Apple released the latest $699 smartphone model iPhone 11 on September 10, offering a range of powerful features at an affordable price. The iPhone 11 succeeds the iPhone and sports a 6.1-inch LCD display that Apple calls a “Liquid Retina HD Display.” It has a resolution of 1792×828 at 326ppi, a contrast ratio of 1400:1, peak brightness of 625 nits, True Tone support to change the white balance to the sun, and large color support for true-to-life colors.
Like other iPhone’s, the iPhone 11 does not have 3D Touch but uses Haptic Feedback instead. Haptic Touch is supported over iOS 13, but lacks 3D Touch’s response.
Style-wise, the iPhone 11 sports a six-colour glass body: White, Black, Yellow, RED, Purple, and Blue.
The iPhone 11 doesn’t look much different from the iPhone XR, but Apple claims it’s built from the toughest glass ever on a smartphone and provides increased water resistance (IP68), improving longevity overall. Spatial audio provides a more immersive view of the sound.
The camera system separates the iPhone 11 from the XR, with Apple releasing a new dual-lens camera that is stronger than the previous single-lens camera. The camera system features a traditional wide-angle camera, and a modern ultra wide-angle camera with a field of view of 120 degrees.

Apple claims, The ultra-wide-angle camera takes four times more scene, making it perfect for landscape portraits, pictures of architecture, close shots and more. The camera design on it has been overhauled for a more realistic experience that, if desired, allows you to view and capture the area beyond the frame using the ultra wide-angle camera. This supports 2x optical zoom out, as does the digital zoom up to 5x.
Apple also introduced a new Night Mode to use the processing power of the iPhone and the new large camera sensor to capture clean, transparent, bright images even under very low lighting conditions, similar to Google Pixel’s Night Sight feature.
Next-generation Smart HDR takes advantage of machine learning to capture more natural-looking images with better highlight and shadow quality, and this fall, Apple is launching a Deep Fusion app that will use advanced machine learning techniques for pixel-by-pixel photo processing, improving texture, colour and noise.
4 K video recording with enhanced dynamic range is available at 24, 30, or 60fps, and both of the iPhone 11 cameras can be used for video capture, with live switching possible with a single tap.
In the Camera app, a QuickTake video mode allows you to hold down the shutter button to automatically capture video with subject tracking, and an Audio Zoom feature matches the video framing for more dynamic sound.
TrueDepth front-facing camera on device has been upgraded with a new 12-megapixel sensor, rendering Face ID up to 30 per cent quicker and able to operate from more angles. It supports slo-mo capture for the first time within 120 fps. The TrueDepth camera also supports smart HDR for more natural-looking images of the next generation and can capture 4K video at 60 fps.
Inside it, there is a 7-nanometer A13 Bionic chip along with a Neural Engine of the third generation. Apple claims the A13 Bionic is the fastest processor ever on a smartphone, with a CPU and GPU 20x faster than the A12. New Machine Learning Accelerators allow the CPU to deliver more than 1 trillion operations per second, and the Neural Engine for real-time photo and video analysis is faster than ever before.
As for battery life, the iPhone11 lasts longer than most iPhones for one hour. It supports up to 17 hours of video playback, up to 10 hours of streaming video playback, and 65 hours of audio playback, but the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max battery life is not balanced by this. Fast charging is possible, but the iPhone11 ships with a regular 5W charger and quick charging require additional equipment, unlike the iPhone 11 Pro.
The iPhone 11 features an Intel modem chip with Gigabit-class LTE, 220 MIMO, and LAA, Wi-Fi 6 support (802.11ax) with 22 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, Dual-SIM with eSIM, and an Apple-designed U1 Ultra Wideband chip that increases spatial awareness and allows improved indoor tracking. In iOS 13.1, the chip will allow AirDrop’s suggestions to be directionally conscious.
Apple sells the iPhone 11 in capacities of 64, 128, and 256 GB with prices starting at $699. It was released officially on Friday 20 September 2019.
The iphone became available for pre-order as of Friday, September 13, with shipments and availability in-store following the device’s official launch date on Friday, September 20.
The iPhone 11 is priced to the 64 GB edition starting at $699. There is a $749 model with 128 GB, and a $849 model with 256 GB.
For the 64 GB version, customers of the Phone Upgrade program can get an iPhone 11 for $29.12 a month. The 128 GB edition costs $31.20 per month, and the $35.37 per month for the 256 GB version.
